Clarksville, Ark.-U of O junior post player Mandy Thomas (Lamar, Ark.) was named American Southwest Conference Player of the Week following her performance in two recent road games.
Thomas, 6-1, averaged 22.5 points and 5 rebounds and made 19-of-29 (65%) of her shots from the field as the Lady Eagles defeated University of Dallas and University of Texas-Dallas. Thomas scored 25 points on 12-of-17 shooting from the field against UD on February 7. Two days later against UTD, Thomas scored 20 points and hit 6-of-8 free throws. Thomas is eighth in the conference in scoring with a 14.1 points per game average. The Lady Eagles are currently 15-6 overall and are in second place in the ASC East Division with a 6-3 record. Thomas earned all-conference and all-academic honors last season and is a graduate of Lamar High School.
