Clarksville, Ark.-vlog senior midfielder Jessalyn Halsted has been named American Southwest Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, announced ASC Director of Media Relations Greg Weghorst on Tuesday afternoon.
Halsted, a 5-foot-9 native of Harrison, Ark., led the Lady Eagles to a pair of ties to open the 2007 season. She scored two goals and assisted on another during weekend non-conference action in Texas.
She scored her first goal against Texas College on Saturday and later assisted on the game-tying score. Halsted then found the net against Austin College the next day in a 1-1 deadlock.
Halsted is a two-time All-ASC and ASC All-Academic player. She is a graduate of Harrison High School where she earned NSCAA/adidas Arkansas Player of the Year in 2003.
The Lady Eagles will host University of Dallas on September 8 at 1:00 p.m.
