糖心vlog官网 art students Shalley Coffin (pictured, left) and Isabella Olarte took home first and second-place awards, respectively, in the recent 2022 Collegiate Art Competition at the River Valley Arts Center in Russellville, Ark.

Coffin won first place with her mixed media piece, 鈥淎谤谤补苍驳别尘别苍迟.鈥

鈥淢y piece that I entered is an artwork that I hold very close to my heart,鈥 Coffin said. 鈥淭his piece, 鈥Arrangement,鈥 represents the mind that can be so easily influenced by everyday sights and sounds. I am honored that my art piece was awarded with first place.鈥

Olarte took second place with her acrylic painting, 鈥淵ou鈥檙e the One Who Never Leaves the One Behind.鈥

鈥淢y painting is a representation of the 鈥楲ion of Judah,鈥 which is Jesus,鈥 Olarte said. 鈥淚t is about the beauty of salvation and how it has impacted my life as well as many others around the world. I feel very proud of my work and it is an honor to have earned this recognition.”

Tammy Harrington, professor of art, said she was pleased with the accomplishments of the Ozarks students who competed in the event. Other U of O participants included Aaliyah Knowles, Alaura Streithorst and Masey Wilson

鈥淭he art program pushes the students to step out of their comfort zone to enter this respected exhibition,鈥 Harrington said. 鈥 We hope that this instills the desire to continue to develop and make significant artwork after they graduate from Ozarks. It is always great to see the quality and creativity of our students in this gallery space. Congrats to Isabella and Shalley on their awards.鈥
